Frequently Asked Question

How do I register?

All you need to do is click on Register at the top right of your screen, and enter the required data (name, surname, nickname and email address).

The system will automatically send you an e-mail with a link, which you must click on to confirm registration. This is to verify that the email address provided is correct, and protect your account from any improper actions at the hands of third parties. The link will redirect you to a webpage where you can choose a password to access your account; once chosen, your Qooid account is ready to use.

You can alter your personal information at any time, through your personal profile.

I can’t remember my password. How can I get it back?

If you can't remember your password, click on Forgot your password? and follow the instructions.

How does my personal profile work?

The first time you access Qooid, you will be asked to fill in your personal profile with information about yourself. This helps other users identify you within the Qooid community.

In the About me section, you can add additional information to that provided during registration, about where you’re from and, if you like, where you live. Simply fill in the empty fields, or edit those you have already filled, and click Save.

In My background, you can list your educational background and professional experiences, to let the community know what you can do and how you learned to do it. Click on Add my background to add a new entry and click Edit if you want to edit a pre-existing one.

Furthermore, your personal profile shows a list of the groups which you create and/or belong to (My groups), the profiles of fellow creators whom you find interesting (My favourites), the content you like most or find most inspirational (My Watching), as well as all your content.

Why is it a good idea to complete my profile?

Your personal profile tells your story to other Qooid users. The more complete it is, in each part, the more opportunities Qooid can give you.

For example, by indicating where you’re from, you will help users searching for content produced in a particular place to find your material.

Why should I publish my content on Qooid?

If you are a professional, publishing content on Qooid increases your career-related opportunities. If, on the other hand, you're a passionate amateur, Qooid allows your work to be seen by a wide variety of users from all over the world, and to develop an extended and global network of contacts.
This service is completely free and has a number of advantages, like the potential for earning money.

How do I browse the contents?

You can search for content by selecting the "content" category from the menu on the left of the search bar and then following any of these steps:

Search by content title or keyword(s): e.g. type "water flower" in the search box and click Search now. The system will find all the content that contains one or more of the search words.

Search by content category: e.g. if you select "Audio" and click Search now, the system will list all the content belonging to this category.

Search by content category + keyword: e.g. if you select "Audio", type "Water flower" in the search box and click Search now, the system will list all audio content which contains one or more of the search words.

How can I protect my content?

When you upload any audio, video, visual or textual content, you will also be asked to load a short extract along with the file, which all users can freely view and consult.
Users who wish to benefit fully from your content will contact you directly to negotiate the purchase of the material.
If, instead, you decide to make your content available in Free mode, you can choose whether to make it accessible to all users or only upon request.

What is reference and how does it work?

On Qooid, you can ask users who purchase or enjoy your content to leave you reference. Reference helps to make the material, and, therefore, its author, more credible and prominent.
Users who view your content or visit your profile will see if you have received reference, and they will be able to read what has been said about your material and you as the author.
To request reference, you must access the My reference section and click on the button Request reference. From here, you can request reference from any Qooid user, simply by filling out the form and clicking Send.
If you find errors in your reference, you can contact the user who provided it, and ask them to alter or correct it.

How do I leave the Qooid community?

To delete your account, you need to access your personal profile and enter the My Tools section, where you can unsubscribe from Qooid after providing your password.
